GLEN IRIS RESIDENCE

The Glen Iris Residence was modelled completely from 3D printed components with the existing condition shown in white, and the renovation in black. SKALA was approached to fabricate this model so that the client may better understand the relationship between the old and new build.

At a glance the juxtaposition of the two forms and how they relate to the site becomes apparent. On removing the roof, the clients were better able to establish the sense of space illustrated in the architect’s renders. This model served well not only as a design tool to talk over ideas, but also as a keepsake for the client.
